A simple question posed to anyone who's reading this,to illustrate the theme of this post.
When you yumcha with friends, how much of your conversation is composed of
(a)Talking about how you actually feel about stuff
and
how much of it is composed of
(b)Topics that are meant to intrigue the listener, leaving a strong impression but not really conveying your feelings on the matter?
Put even more simply, would you rather talk about the bad breakup you had and tell everyone how you really feel or would you rather talk about how "impressed" you are at the bad behaviour of the jerk you broke up with?
Or is something inhibiting you from expressing your emotions? Is it the fact that after living to IMPRESS others for so long, you even want to impress yourself and you can't even express to yourself your feelings about the breakup, the feelings being overshadowed by your wish to be special? To be special,by being someone who dated the "worst jerk on earth"?Is that why you only talk about how bad he/she was to most of the world?
Is IMPRESSION a way of AVOIDING EXPRESSION?
To me,yes it is.
Another question:Who are we really trying to impress?Who are we trying to convince with all our might that we are SPECIAL people? Why are we afraid of being NORMAL?Okay thats quite a few questions but never mind.I can sum them up in one question:Why must we be SPECIAL?
Is it because being special is a sort of Season Pass that,in our minds, entitles us to have everything we want?Is it because if we're not special,no one will turn their heads our way?Is it because we need to convince ourselves that we can be winners in our own way,by not following the norms and competing with everyone else on the NORMAL path?
Will we deserve a beautiful girlfriend if we're special? Will we ensure our success for the next 15 years of our life? Will we?Will we?
The last question, think about this yourself.Which one opens up the door to being special?

Is it really the one you think? My opinion should be clear on this one.=)Look at the buttons next to the door if you still don't know.
