This guy and his son captivated me for the first 6 years of my life.
The first instalment of the lion king movies that would enthrall children all over the world
later on,and the original,THE original and irreplaceable LION KING movie.
It wasn't really clear to me,though, how big an effect the father-son relationship
had on the progress of the movie's plot,not until 8 years after i stopped playing it everyday
on the video tape machine,player,whatever you wanna call it.You can even call it that-squeaky-squeaky-thing-that-plays-movies-so-old-they're-in-the-museum.I'd agree.
FATHERS influence their kids in many ways,even if they aren't there.
Not by making their kids see ghosts everywhere that are actually your reflection...that doesn't work for girls lol..
Not by reminding them of their presence by giving them an unfinishable task that is monotonous,tedious not to mention AMAZINGLY impossible(unfinishable ma what do you expect?) that they execute daily while hoping for their fathers to come back*u can see this in too many anime lol*.
Fathers act as ROLE MODELS for kids.
Simba's seeing his father's face everywhere actually signifies his father's existence as a role model to him.
Some people,seeing their father's face and actions everywhere,know that it's exactly the opposite.
They don't want to turn out like their dads.
But the more they work to NOT turn out like their dads,the more they DO turn out like their dads.
Hence the need for a role model.
If you don't want to turn out like your parents,you'd better find a role model fast.
If I don't wanna turn out like my dad,I'd better find a role model fast.
